Lent 2022 – Full to the Brim

As we emerge yet again from a difficult season of deprivation and separation, this year’s Lenten theme, “Full to the Brim,” beckons us to an expansive understanding of God’s mercies. The team at A Sanctified Art has put together colorful and life-filled journey of image and word to guide us through the lectionary texts for the season.

Devotionals and Discussion Group
Printed devotional books are available in the sanctuary, and digital books are available upon request (pastor@ucu.church). A Zoom discussion group of the devotional materials will meet on Wednesdays in March at 7:00 pm, beginning March 9. You are encouraged to read along and/or to send a book to a friend who might be in need of some extra grace and mercy in this season.

Women in the Word
On Wednesdays at 8:00 am, join Women in the Word via Zoom as they read through A Way Other than Our Own Lenten Devotions by Walter Brueggemann.

Foodless Fellowship
After church on Sundays, we’ll host a series of “foodless fellowship” times that tie (somewhat!) to the theme of the day. An overview schedule is below. Stay tuned for accompanying online activities.
March 6 – Desert vacations. Bring a photo (printed or digital) of a trip you took to a warm place.
March 13 – Pet superlatives. Bring a printed photo of a beloved pet (past or present) to share and celebrate, yearbook style.
March 20 – Growing where you’re planted. Bill McMains and Sandy Wilmot will lead an organic activity on the first day of Spring.
March 27 – In living color. Membership & Evangelism hosts a coloring session.
April 3 – Hands to work, hearts to God. Trustees will direct a festive church clean-up day to prepare for Holy Week and Easter.
