September 29, 2021- Harvest Market thanks and guest preachers

Hats off to everyone whose tireless efforts made for a successful return of the Old-Fashioned Harvest Market. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more committed group of volunteers. Several folks have commented on how good it was to see faces long missed. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the weekend one that was good for heart and soul.

This week, we begin a new worship series entitled, “God Meets World,” which mirrors a four-week enrichment program I am offering for Middle School youth (let me know if you know of a Middle Schooler who would like to join). We’ll examine some hallmarks of the faith—Bible, Jesus, prayer, church—and how we understand God’s presence in the world through them.

This Sunday, as we also celebrate World Communion Sunday, we are blessed to have guests Johanna Conver and Mackenzie Conver speak to us about their vocation as Bible translators in Southeast Asia. They’ll deliver the message and be available both after church and at our Middle School evening program to share and answer questions about their work. Welcome, Johanna and Mackenzie!

With fall now officially underway, I pray that each of us may find some moments to restfully give thanks for the harvests of the year.
