As I prepare for a week away next week, a few housekeeping notes.
First, if you’re interested in learning more (or receiving a refresher) on the foundations of Christianity and church life via a 5-week series in August and September, please let me know this week! This is for people interested in church membership, or long-time members and friends who want to brush up on a few things and get to know others within the community. There’s more information on our website, including a survey about class format. If there’s not much interest this time around, we will postpone.
Secondly, the Clutter Barn needs your stuff! After a most successful sale last Saturday, the shelves are bare! There are two donation days in August: Saturdays the 6th and 13th. Please sort your items and bring them by, and/or volunteer to help fill the shelves again. Many thanks to the CB crew for an excellent showing (and earnings!) last weekend.
Finally, I’m beginning to think about 2023, which will be the 50th anniversary of the United Church of Underhill. It’s about time we put together a planning team, but before we get there, I’d love to hear your ideas. Is there a part of the history you’d like to know more about? Guests we should invite? Special events to hold? Let’s let those creative juices flow so that our commemoration can reflect a full range of UCU experiences.
