Annual Traditions
UCU worships regularly on Sunday mornings at 10:00, in person and with a YouTube Livestream.
In the summers, we go “offline” to worship in the beauty of God’s creation, outside under the tents in our backyard. Check our calendar or events page for exact dates.
The Advent and Christmas season present special opportunities for children’s and music ministries. Specific events are announced each fall, but we often have an outdoor live nativity on Christmas Eve morning, and a traditional candlelit service at 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve in the sanctuary. Unless Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, we do not hold worship on Dec. 25.
Lent and Easter are sacred seasons that draw us to closer to divine mystery and to one another. We worship ecumenically with area churches on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. During Holy week (the week leading into Easter Sunday), we gather daily for morning devotions at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Jericho. On Good Friday, we join in an ecumenical walk from St. Thomas Church in Underhill Center to Catalyst Church in Raceway, stopping to recall events in the life of Christ along the way.
On the last weekend in September, UCU hosts the Old-Fashioned Harvest Market, a beloved community event that draws folks from far and wide. Our Sunday worship service that day typically occurs at 9:30 am and may or may not be livestreamed.
