Stewardship
The United Church of Underhill is so blessed to have people who use their gifts to help the church. Look at all the things that the United Church of Underhill does!
Welcoming
We strive to provide a building that can be used by many groups, a worship service where everyone feels welcome, pastoral care for those in need, open doors for funerals or weddings, and events on site for the whole community.
Worshipping
Our Pastor and worship team create meaningful services with varied music, visual art, live streamed or in person, for children, youth and adults. Special services during Easter and Christmas draw in community members searching for a sacred space.
Working for God
Our Mission team seeks out local and international organizations to assist financially or with specific needs. We work with social services to provide meals and gifts to families during the holidays, quilts for youth during difficult transitions. Funds support the UMC and UCC conferences who in turn support our resource needs.
Serving Our Community
People need food, clothing, homes and a sense of community. Through our work with the Food Shelf, Clutter Barn, Harvest Crossing affordable housing initiative and Harvest Market our church provides hope for a better world.
Although there are many types of gifts, funding is what allows us to have the church, the pastor, and all the great activities and missions that are so important to us. Very generally, the pie chart below shows how your donations are spent. Any member of Stewardship or Trustees can get into more details with you if you have questions about this.
Love can come in so many forms, like welcoming, worshiping, working for God, and serving our community!
So to celebrate that, this year’s stewardship theme is taken from a verse in I Corinthians 14:1.
“Make Love Your Aim”
With this in mind, we hope that you will consider pledging to the church this year. Pledging allows a budget to be constructed to plan and finance the activities of the church in the coming year.
You can make your pledge in one of three ways.
You can make your pledge in church on Consecration Sunday, November 17.
You can make an online pledge of giving by clicking on the link. Responses to this form are ONLY seen by the Financial Secretary.
Or, you can send in your pledge by mail when you receive the letter from Stewardship with a postcard-sized pledge card.
Please join us for a potluck breakfast downstairs at 8:30 before church on Sunday, November 17
