Education and Fellowship Opportunities for Children & Youth

Sunday Friends

Christian education for children is offered each week at 10 am during our worship services. Time together usually includes stories, songs, and often a craft and some structured playtime.

During the summer there is no Sunday Friends, but there will be children's bulletins and other items/activities available for children to use during the service. The nursery will also be available for parent/caregiver supervised play.

Children in Worship

Children are welcome in worship! Most Sunday services include a children’s time, after which younger children are invited to go downstairs for Sunday Friends. Children are also welcome to stay in service, participating as they desire and/or doing quiet activities (we offer several in the back of the church that you can take with you to your seat).

A few times during the year the children lead in worship. The fourth Sunday in Advent (Sunday before Christmas) is typically our pageant day, and the children also lead a service at the conclusion of the program year in June. Children are also welcome to lead readings, prayers, and share musical offerings throughout the year. Contact worship@ucu.church if your child is interested in serving in these ways.

Where things are

  • There are two restrooms in the church building. One is to the right as you come through the first set of doors (just past the guestbook). The other is near the back door (by the church office).

  • There is a changing table in the bathroom near the back door.

  • The nursery is located in the basement.

  • Crayons, board books, and quiet activities are located at the back of the church.

  • Ushers have children's bulletins with coloring and activity pages.

  • Coffee fellowship occurs right after church in the Fellowship Room (behind the sanctuary).
