January 15, 2025- Annual Meeting (and other) updates

Our 2025 Annual Meeting booklet (containing the 2024 reports) is now available in digital form and will be available in hard copy on Sunday, Jan. 19. Whether or not you’re planning to attend Annual Meeting (January 26), I hope you’ll spend some time reviewing these materials, which speak volumes to the depth and breadth of ministry going on in and beyond our church. Well done, faithful servants.

This Sunday, the trustees will host a financial presentation after worship. We do this every year in advance of Annual Meeting, allowing time to discuss the budget and ask questions so that when it comes time to vote at the meeting, the body is well informed (and the trustees have time to make any last-minute tweaks). You can find the budget reports in the final pages of the Annual Meeting booklet linked above. This meeting will also be accessible via Zoom, approximately 15 minutes after the service ends (11:20 or thereabouts).

On Sunday, January 26, we’ll begin our day with a pre-worship potluck, a beloved tradition in recent years that allows us to have full bellies and warm spirits as we meet to worship and conduct the business of the church. Immediately following the service, we’ll host our Annual Meeting in the sanctuary, again with the option of a Zoom connection for remote participation. We’ll review and vote on all the items on the warned agenda (see beginning of the booklet). Though only official members of UCU may vote at Annual Meeting, all are welcome to attend and contribute to the discussion.

Also this month, we’ve begun our discussion group on prayer. We’ll have four more meetings (Mondays at 7pm via Zoom): Jan. 20, Jan. 17, Feb. 10 & Feb. 17. Thanks, Mike Sacco, for leading this discussion group. Here is the Zoom link for the prayer study, which is different than the one we use for typical church activities.

Blessings on your week,

Pastor Jen
